Morning Divine Liturgy at the Historic Church

On the morning of Tuesday, February 5, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II presided over the Divine Liturgy at 8:00 a.m. Concelebrating in the service were the assembly of bishops, the monastic fathers, the monastery’s community, and invited guests. For the first time, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated on the altar of St. Mark in the historic church.

Before departing the monastery, His Holiness addressed the faithful gathered in the monastery’s outer courtyard. People had come from various regions to express their joy at his visit, welcoming him with warm applause and enthusiastic cheers. In his address, His Holiness spoke about three essential pillars of the Christian life: prayer, thanksgiving, and joy.

Visit to Bishop Michael, Metropolitan of Assiut

On his return journey from the Monastery of Al-Muharraq, His Holiness visited His Eminence Anba Mikhail, Metropolitan of Assiut.
