This Saturday, H.H. Pope Tawadros II visited the Monastery of St. Macarius (Abu Maqar) in Wadi el-Natrun. The visit commenced with the Prayer of Thanksgiving followed by the chanting of the Resurrection Hymn, and the taking of aphotograph with all monks of the monastery to commemorate the occasion. A spiritual meeting was held around the topic of the Resurrection and the Heavenly life, followed by a question-and-answer session and a discussion on matters related to the monastery, the lives of our fathers the monks, and the importance of holding a weekly meeting to study spirituality, ecclesiology and monasticism. The meeting was concluded with prayer and the distribution of gifts for the Feast of the Resurrection to all those present. Afterwards, H.H. met with the clergy responsible for the management and administration of the monastery to examine monastic matters.
