This Wednesday at the papal residence in Cairo, H.H. Pope Tawadros II received Ambassador Amjad Adaileh, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Cairo, who conveyed to H.H. the greetings of King Abudullah II of Jordan. During their meeting, emphasis was placed on the cooperation between Egypt and Jordan in the area of religious tourism, as well as the importance of Coptic Christians visiting the site where Jesus was baptized as part of the Christian pilgrimage.
H.H. Pope praised the role of Jordan and its King Abdullah II in their support of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and the Christian presence within the region as they are an integral part of the fabric and future of the Middle East.
