Today H.H. Pope Tawadros II consecrated the Church of Sts. Mark and Pope Peter, the Seal of the Martyrs, in Sidi Bishr of Alexandria, which is affiliated with the churches of the district of el-Montazah.
H.H. Pope Tawadros II arrived at the church this morning and blessed the commemorative plaque that dates the inauguration of the church before he began the consecration prayers.
The following General Bishops who are pastorally responsible for the districts of Alexandria participated in the consecration prayers: H.G. Bishop Pavly (el-Montazah District), H.G. Bishop Ilarion (Western District), and H.G. Bishop Hermina (Eastern District).
The consecration of the church took place on the 50th anniversary of its founding by the departed Heg. Fr. Bishoy Kamel, with the first liturgy celebrated on the Feast of the Apostles in 1971 AD.
