This Friday, the papal residence in Cairo hosted the graduation ceremony of the graduate classes of Koinonia Institute of Biblical Studies – an affiliate of Hadayek El-Kobba churches and surrounding area, in the presence of H.H. Pope Tawadros II who honoured the graduates at the end of the ceremony.
H.G. Bishop Mikhail, the General Bishop of the region, thanked H.H. for his interest in encouraging the Institute, and during his speech spoke of the importance of the Holy Bible as well as the Institute’s academic career since its founding in Nov 2019 until now.
Fr. Mousa Nabil, the Supervisor of the Institute, spoke of the institute’s founding, vision, and message, while some of the graduates shared their experiences and the advantages gained from studying at the institute; both in their personal lives and in service. Furthermore, one of the graduates delivered a presentation on her research on the ministry of the Lord Christ in Galilee.
The ceremony was concluded by an address delivered by H.H. who expressed his happiness for the content of the course materials and standard of the Institute’s students. Moreover, he commended the topics and ideas presented by the attendees and called for each Christian to become a Holy Bible read by all – a living Gospel, then he talked about the characteristics of the servant engaged by the Bible who:
- Begins from the Bible
- Lives by the Bible, and
- Teaches the Bible
The Koinonia Institute for Youth was founded on 13 Nov 2019, and it specializes in Biblical studies and teaches the Church’s children, beginning with the first year of secondary school and lasting for period of five years to allow students to complete their Pre-Servant Program at the undergraduate level. As for today’s graduate class, they are the cadre servants who will teach at the Institute in the upcoming period.
At the end of the ceremony, H.G. Bishop Mikhail presented H.H. the Pope with the Institute’s Arms, while H.H. bestowed the graduates with their graduation certificates and took photographs with them to commemorate the occasion.
