H.H. Pope Tawadros II offered his condolences for his children the four youth belonging to the village of el-Nasiriyah of Beni Mazar in Minya Governorate, who departed due to injuries sustained from the fires which engulfed the farms in the Larnaca mountain region of Cyprus.
During the sermon of their funeral prayers, H.G. Bishop Stephanos the bishop of Beba and el-Fashn and Papal Vicar of the diocese of Beni Mazar, conveyed the condolences of H.H. to the families of the four departed youth, and noted that H.H. the Pope has been following the procedures for the transportation of the bodies since yesterday, quoting H.H. who thanked President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Mabdouly, and Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry. He also thanked the Minister of Health Dr. Hala Zayed, as well as Ambassador Nabila Makram the Minister of Immigration and Expatriates Affairs, for their constant follow-up endeavours since the incident and in facilitating the procedure for the return of the bodies.
The Funeral Prayers were held this afternoon at the Church of the Virgin Mary in the village of el-Nasiriyah their hometown, for the four youth Ezzat Salama, Eid Nashaat, Samuel Milad, and Maged Younan, in the attendance of the Ambassador of Cyprus to Egypt Mr. Homer Mavromatis, and Major General Osama al-Qadi the Governor of Minya.
