Today H.H. Pope Tawadros II honoured members of the “Youth Can and Have a Vision” Initiative adopted by the Bishopric of Public, Ecumenical & Social Services through the bishopric’s economic development program.

This afternoon at the Papal Residence in Cairo, H.H. the Pope met the youth participating in the Initiative where each presented to H.H. a project concept they had implemented, in the attendance of H.G. Bishop Yolios General Bishop of Old Cairo and the Bishopric of Services, as well as the team supervising the economic development program.

The youth presented models of their projects belonging to micro-enterprises in several fields including maintenance and sale of computers, printing, and online marketing, blacksmithing, hairdressing, ceiling design, footwear industry, and grains and dried herbs.

H.H. the Pope was pleased with the success of these successful project concepts stressing the importance of patience, perseverance and hard work for the growth and survival of these projects. He also stressed the need for constant learning and being kept up to date with what is new for work development and continuous training.

The “Youth Can and Have a Vision” Initiative aims to promote a culture of self-employment, access to modern ideas of entrepreneurship, and the importance of training to find proper job opportunities to live a life in dignity.
