The Papal residence of the Coptic Orthodox Church issued the details of the initiative to plant trees in all churches and dioceses, within the framework of the Church’s keenness to confront climate change, and the initiative is represented by a competition to plant trees between churches.
The details of the competition are as follows:
Contest terms:
1- Choosing trees suitable for the environment of the place, preferably (Olive – Pomegranate – Berries)
2- Taking into account coordination in agriculture and the aesthetic appearance, and farming is done in churches and outside the surrounding environment.
3- Photographing the place before and after planting trees and the date of planting.
4- Planting at least 1,000 trees in the diocese area.
5- Reports must contain the signature of the bishop and priest of the church.
6- Pictures of each church shall be handed over to its Diocese.
7- The Diocese advances by the end of October 2022 AD at the Papal Residence – Saint Rewais – Abbasiya – Cairo.
Awards:
Prize 1-3: 100,000 L.E (three prizes)
Prize 4-6: 75,000 L.E (three prizes)
Prize 7-9: 50,000 L.E (three prizes)
Prize 10-12: 25,000 L.E (three prizes)
Awards are presented according to the number of trees planted and grown and their aesthetic coordination, and the result will be announced in mid-November.
