His Holiness Pope Tawadros II received this evening, Saturday, several professors specialized in Coptic studies from Egyptian universities, participating in the meeting organized today by the Coptic Antiquities Association under the title of “Illuminating Theses in Coptic Studies at the Egyptian University”
His Holiness listened to a summary of 24 masters and doctoral theses in all fields of Coptic studies, which were delivered during today’s meeting. His Holiness also honoured the researchers and took memorial photos with them.
This meeting comes within the framework of the Pope’s interest in supporting scientific research, especially in the field of Coptology, as it is part of Egyptian studies.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Isaac Agban, Dean of the Institute of Coptic Studies, several priests interested in Coptology, Mr. Nabil Farouk, the Secretary of the Coptic Archaeology Society, Prof. Dr Ezzat Qadous, Professor of Greek and Roman Archaeology at Alexandria University, Prof. Dr. Rasha Farouk, Director of the Institute of Coptic Research and Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University, and Ms Dr Samah El-Sawy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Graduate Studies at Damanhour University, and Prof. Dr. Shorouk Ashour, Vice Dean of the Future Academy in Cairo, along with a large number of professors, researchers and scholars.
