Today, H.H. Pope Tawadros II received Staff Major General Ayman Naim Thabet, Director of the Nasser Higher Military Academy, accompanied by a number of faculty members, military and civilian scholars and expatriates from nearby and friendly countries, at the Papal Residence in Cairo.
H.H. welcomed his guests and congratulated them on the approaching of Ramadan, and delivered a speech in which he spoke about Egypt’s place in history, the growth and development currently happening on its land.
Then, he spoke about the Coptic Church and its creation and some of the historical features that distinguish it, and about the Coptic language as it is the last link in the ancient Egyptian language. H.H also answered questions and inquiries from the audience.
As for the Director of the Academy, he thanked H.H for his constant keenness to meet with the delegation of Nasser Academy, praising the national role played by the Coptic Church in society.
At the end of the meeting, Major General Ayman Naim Thabet, Staff Major General, presented to H.H. the Academy’s shield in appreciation of him; and as for H.H, he presented some souvenirs to the attendees and memorable pictures were taken of them with H.H.
