Today evening, H.H Pope Tawadros II visited Saint Joseph’s Cathedral of the Maronite Church, and His Beatitude Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Catholic Maronites in Lebanon, His Beatitude Patriarch Ibrahim Ishaq, Coptic Catholic Patriarch, and His Grace Archbishop George Shehan, Maronite Metropolitan in Egypt, welcomed H.H to the celebration.
H.H witnessed the celebration held at Saint Joseph Maronite School, and the opening of the two halls: “Patriarch Howayek” and “Monsignor Youhanna Tohme”.
H.H, His Beatitude the Cardinal and a number of attendees delivered some speeches during the celebration. The school administration presented a souvenir to H.H Pope Tawadros II, His Beatitude Cardinal Mar Bechara Al Rai, His Beatitude Patriarch Ibrahim Ishaq and His Eminence Bishop George Shehan. Also, a number of Maronite school graduates were honoured.
Ali Al-Halabi, Lebanon’s ambassador to Cairo, and His Excellency Archbishop Nicholas Henry, the Vatican’s ambassador in Cairo also attended the celebration.
H.H accompanied H.E Metropolitan Marcos, Metropolitan of Shubra El-Khaymah, H.G Bishop Danial, Bishop of Maadi and Holy Synod Secretary, the monk Kyrillos Anba Bishoy, director of the Office of H.H, and Mr. Gerges Saleh, Coordinator of Relations for the Coptic Church in the Middle East Council of Churches, to the celebration.
