Today, H.H. Pope Tawadros II sent a telegram to His Beatitude Ibrahim Ishak, the Coptic Catholic Patriarch in Egypt, in which he condolences on the passing of His Beatitude Cardinal Antonios Naguib, Honorary Patriarch of the Coptic Catholic Church in Egypt, and its former patriarch, who has departed from our world today.
H.H. Pope Tawadros II said in his telegram:
“His Beatitude Patriarch Ibrahim Isaac
I sincerely condolence the departure of Cardinal Antonios Naguib.
He was such a dignified personality serving his spirit and truth; a scholar of knowledge and biblical studies, and through the long life that God granted him, he succeeded in serving love and peace in the Egyptian society since he was a monk, student, priest, bishop and patriarch, and gained the love and respect of many people.
In the hope of resurrection, we farewell him, sending condolence to you and to all the fathers, monks, nuns, his beloved ones and his family in Egypt and abroad.”
