This morning, H.H. Pope Tawadros II delivered a speech via the ON channel, one of the United Media Services Company channels, which owns channels (ON – DMC – Hayat – CBC), as part of the weekly Sunday sermon program.
H.H. pointed out that the Church, on the third Sunday of the Holy Pentecost, spoke about “Living Water” through the Gospel of the Liturgy, which mentions the meeting of Christ with the Samaritan woman.
H.H. said that with the many uses of water, the most important point is that water is necessary for life, so without it, man dies, and so does Christ because, without Christ, Man is dead.
Then H.H. reviewed four scenes of people who were deprived, even for a short period of their lives, of the water of life. They presented four types of death, warning that no one should abandon himself to any of these four types, which are:
1- The death of conscience: Judas Iscariot.
2- The death of thought: Saul of Tarsus.
3- The death of the soul: Zacchaeus, the publican.
4- The death of hope: Mary the Magdalene.
The journalist and writer Ashraf Sadiq, managing editor of Al-Ahram, is responsible for the task of preparing the weekly Sunday sermon, which the pontiffs of the church exchange to present since its publishing.
