Today at the Papal Residence in Cairo, H.H. Pope Tawadros II Receives Prince Jaime Bernardo of Bourbon-Parma, the Climate Envoy of the Netherlands, and Han Maurits Schapfeld, the Dutch ambassador in Cairo.
The conversation was about the importance of educating young people about the dangers of climate change and their important role in limiting it.
H.H. referred to the Coptic Church’s cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and the Church’s interest in the file of environmental protection, and pointed to the Church’s launch “Plant a Tree” initiative to encourage churches and dioceses to take care of the environment; as he also confirmed that he is praying for the success of the Climate Conference COP27, which will be hosted in Sharm El-Sheikh next November, and that choosing Egypt and Sharm El-Sheikh is a successful choice, and H.H. wished fruitful results for this important conference.
