Today at the Papal Residence in Cairo, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II received Sister Philomena and Sister Gabriella, from the Diocese of Ireland, accompanied by Professor Father Neil Xavier O’Donoghue, Director of Liturgical Programs at Saint Patrick’s Maynooth University in Ireland.
The Nuns are from St. George’s Convent, Old Cairo and are currently living in St. George’s Convent in Ireland, under the patronage of H.G. Bishop Antony, Bishop of Ireland, Scotland, North East of England and its Affiliated Regions.
The Nuns hold Masters degrees with first class Honours from St. Patrick’s University in Maynooth in Ireland, on the Coptic Monasticism in Egypt, the first is on the Pachomian Koinonia and the other is on St. Macarius the Great and his fifty sermons.
