This evening, H.H. Pope Tawadros II witnessed a Concert that was held at St. Rewis’ Theatre and was organised by the Choir of St. Rewis that is affiliated to the Churches of the area of St. Rewis in Abbasiya.
The Concert was for the 10th anniversary of the Enthronement of H.H. Pope Tawadros II on the seat of St. Mark the Apostle.
The Concert included praises and traditional hymns and songs that were presented by the choir over 44 years since the establishment of the choir in 1978.
At the End of the Concert, His Holiness commended the performance of the choir and said: “You have entertained us with these beautiful chanting”.
His Holiness then added: “The lyrics are beautiful, the music is calm and the voices are melodious”.
His Holiness also added: “when we were servants, we used to compete to acquire a music tape of St. Rewis’ Choir, and we used to sit and write the lyrics of the hymns to memorize them”.
H.H. then concluded saying: “You reminded us of the beautiful old time, may you always preserve the spiritual beauty that creates an atmosphere that encourages to pray.”
The Concert was attended by a number of bishops, priests of the area of St. Rewis, servants and congregation.
