The Coptic Orthodox Church, headed by H.H. Pope Tawadros II mourns the loss of Engineer Sherif Ismail, a former prime minister and presidential assistant, who passed away today at the age of 67 years, after serving our dear country Egypt in a critical time, and excelling in his work in various positions.

We express our condolences to His Excellency President Abdel-Fattah El Sisi and the Egyptian nation for the departure of this national figure, remembering his situations and efforts for the development of this nation.

We remember with all appreciation his good relationship with the Church and his eagerness for honoring national values.

We pray that God grants his family and loved ones special comfort.
