This morning, at the Great Cathedral at St Bishoy’s monastery, Wadi El Natroun, H.H. Pope Tawadros II prayed the Holy Liturgy during which H.H. ordained 17 priests for the service in Churches in Cairo.

H.E. Bishop Danial, Metropolitan of Maadi attended the ordination along with six more bishops.

During the sermon of the Liturgy, His Holiness addressed three basic features of the priest’s service, namely:
1- The priesthood is a heavy gift: Therefore, the priest must have a spiritual structure, spiritual knowledge, a strong and humble soul, and humanity.
2- Honesty: that is, the priest should be trustworthy over souls, education (lessons), and money (money).
3- A serious responsibility: before God, the Church and the people.
