His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, during his sermon at the Wednesday weekly meeting, congratulated the student Mark Martyros, who recently won the first prize in the “India Insights” competition, which was set up by the Indian Cultural Center and the Indian Embassy in Egypt last December, in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Education.
“Mark” won the first place for the secondary stage in the competition, in which 4,600 participants from all educational levels from 431 schools participated, where he drew a portrait of the international Indian poet “Tagore” and his famous phrases: “Love is the only truth.”
Mark was honored with all the winners from all academic levels at a ceremony held by the Indian Embassy for this purpose.
The student presented a portrait to His Holiness, and H.H. commended his parents for encouraging him for his talent, wishing him more success, and presenting him with a painting about the Angel of the Lord.
Mark received the gold medal, a certificate of appreciation, and the result of an office issued by the Indian Cultural Center, on which the portrait of the winner is printed, and a number of other awards.
Mark also presented a portrait of His Excellency the Indian Ambassador at the ceremony
