His Holiness Pope Tawadros II witnessed today the graduation ceremony of the first three batches of St. Paul the Apostle Institute for Service Studies, which was held at the Papal Residence in Cairo.
The ceremony began with prayer, then Dr. Sherine Seif, Director of the Institute, gave a presentation on the Institute’s vision, dreams, plan and what it has accomplished so far. Three graduates presented testimonies about the impact of their studies at the Institute on their life and service.
After that, Fr Daoud Lamei, the supervisor of the Institute, gave a speech, during which he thanked His Holiness for his support and sincere fatherhood for the Institute, its thought and message, and his wise following up to the steps of growth and spread.
Then, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II gave a speech in which he commended the work of the Service Institute and the important role it plays, and His Holiness indicated that the Church has:
– Icon (is the family)
– Jewel (is monasticism)
– Dome (is the integrity of education).
In conclusion, His Holiness honored the graduates of the institute and distributed certificates known as “DOME” to them, then took memorial photos with the graduates, the institute’s council and its lecturers.
The meeting was attended by Fr Daoud Lamei, Fr Boules George, and Fr Louka Maher, priests of St. Mark the Apostle Church on Cleopatra Street in Heliopolis, in addition to the academic members at the Institute.
