His Holiness Pope Tawadros II prayed the Holy Liturgy, Monday morning, at the shrine of St. Mark the Apostle in St. Mark’s Cathedral in Abbaseya, on the occasion of the feast of his martyrdom .
After the Holy Liturgy, H.H. perfumed the relics of the Evangelist St. Mark, the founder of our Coptic Orthodox Church, who was martyred on the land of Alexandria on the 30th of Parmoute in the year 68 AD.
Then H.H. went to the shrine of St. Athanasius the Apostolic, where he perfumed his relics in celebration of the feast of his departure, which is celebrated next Monday corresponding to the 7th of Pashons.
