His Holiness Pope Tawadros II begins, next week, a visit to the Republic of Hungary with an official invitation from the Hungarian Government, to participate in the celebrations of the National Day of Hungary.

During the visit, His Holiness the Pope will meet the Hungarian officials, Cardinal Peter Erdo, Archbishop of Hungary, and the Egyptian ambassador there.

It is expected that the Pázmány Péter University in Budapest will confer an honorary doctorate degree on His Holiness the Pope during the same visit.

His Holiness’s visit also includes an intense pastoral activity, during which he meets the Coptic Orthodox Church in Hungary and some neighboring countries.
