Today (Saturday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II visited the Monastery of Saint Macarious the Great (Abu Makar Monastery) in the Desert of Scetis, as part of His Holiness’ follow-up on all aspects of the monastery’s management.

The monastery’s monks welcomed Pope Tawadros with hymns. His Holiness visited the ancient church, where he prayed the Prayer of Thanksgiving and took a blessing from the relics of the saints of the monastery. He held a session in the meeting hall with the monks. He delivered a spiritual talk in which he linked the fifth verse of Chapter One of the first epistle of Saint Paul the Apostle to his disciple Timothy, with the final chapter of the Second Epistle to Timothy. After the talk, he listened to and answered the monks’ questions.
