On Tuesday evening, H.H. Pope Tawadros II witnessed the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of students studying the Holy Bible at the EIME Continuing Education Centre in Alexandria. This was in the presence of the General Bishops supervising the pastoral sectors in Alexandria, Hegumen Abraam Emil, Deputy General of the Patriarchate in Alexandria, and a number of priests.
The celebration had several segments, including a group of hymns by “David’s Heart” choir, a documentary about the EIME Continuing Education Centre, a speech by Father Father Antonios Fahmy, who supervises the center, and the impressions and opinions of the students. The speeches were concluded by that of His Holiness, in which he praised the work of the center and the efforts of all its employees. Pope Tawadros highlighted that the Holy Bible is: a pearl mine and a meadow for souls.
His Holiness then honored the winners of the “Know and Read” competition, organized annually by the center and handed the graduates their graduation certificates.
It is worth noting that the studies of the “EIME Continuing Education Centre” take place over a period of two years on a credit hour system through regular attendance, or virtual attendance on the center’s digital platform.
