This evening, H.H. Pope Tawadros II witnessed the graduation ceremony of the sixth cohort of the Counseling Diploma from the Saint Joseph the Carpenter School for Church Counseling and Guidance, in the presence of the General Bishops supervising the pastoral sectors in Alexandria, Hegumen Abraam Emil (Deputy General of the Patriarchate in Alexandria), and a number of priests.
The celebration included several sessions, including a group of speeches by Father Morcos Gabra (Director of the Counseling Center at St. Mark’s Cathedral), and Father Loka Abd El-Masih (Head and Director of the Saint Joseph School of Counseling in Alexandria), expressing his love for His Holiness through three qualities that distinguish him: fatherhood, peace, and precision. He also discussed the history of the school’s establishment, its vision and its mission. Following this, seven graduation projects were presented by the graduates, and His Holiness honored the first three winning projects.
The ceremony concluded with a speech by Pope Tawadros, in which he praised the work of the school, appreciating the efforts of all its employees. He highlighted the importance of Church advice and guidance and its role in building a healthy family, pointing out that the family is the greatest entity and icon of the Church.
His Holiness honored the graduates and handed them graduation certificates.
It is worth noting that the “Counseling Diploma” takes place over two years and a third year of training on a credit hour system through regular attendance.
