Today (Tuesday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II met at the Papal Residence in Cairo with the councils of our churches in the Gulf countries (UAE, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar), in the presence of His Grace Bishop Yolyous; General Bishop of Old Cairo, the Bishopric of Services and the supervisor of these churches.
His Holiness delivered a spiritual talk with the Gulf Church Councils, during which he discussed the course of administrative and organizational work within the councils, listened to their visions and inquiries, and delivered a talk to them on the verse: “Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith” (1 Timothy 1:5). He highlighted that our teacher Saint Paul the Apostle put in this verse the summary of Christian life and service, pointing out that the goal of life with God, and the goal of the Church, is:
1- Love from a pure heart.
2- A good conscience.
3- Faith in disbelief.
He concluded by calling on everyone to measure themselves every day against these standards and to strive to follow this integrated approach.
