Today (Friday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II met at the Papal Residence in Cairo, with Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, and the leaders of the International Association of Orthodox Christian Scouts, at the conclusion of their conference that was held in Cairo the past few days. This is on the sidelines of the World Scouting Conference, which is hosted by Egypt under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Pope Tawadros welcomed his guests, expressing his happiness at their presence at the headquarters of the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church. He wished them a distinguished time in Egypt, highlighting the importance of Scout members being advocates of peace.
Several speeches were also delivered by: the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Khaled Essawy (President of the Egyptian General Federation of Scouts and Guides), Dr. Antoine Daoud (representative of the Egyptian Federation in the International Association of Orthodox Christian Scouts), and Dr. Samuel Metias (Secretary of the Coptic Orthodox Church’s Scouts).
