His Holiness and his guests went to the hall of Saint Athanasius the Apostolic in St. Mark’s Cathedral in Abbasiya, where he held a meeting with the youth of the forum. At the beginning of this, a report on the Fourth LOGOS Coptic Youth Forum was presented, during which the youth spoke about their experiences that they had learned and acquired in the forum so far, at the ecclesiastical and national levels, which instilled in them pride and appreciation for the country and Church.
His Holiness delivered a speech in which he thanked the audience and indicated that youth have the right to receive all our attention, stressing the importance of receiving an integrated cultural, religious, patriotic, artistic, and monastic dose from their Church, because youth are precious to the nation and the Church. They have the right to enjoy their national and ecclesiastical roots. He told them: “Enjoy your life in your country.”
His Holiness praised the great effort being made in preparing and equipping this forum, which begins more than a year before the forum’s date, making what is presented to the youth in the forum a useful treasure for every young person in his life.
Pope Tawadros also praised the great effort made in preparing and equipping this forum, which began over a year before the forum, making what is presented to the youth in the a useful treasure for every young person in his life.
His Holiness emphasized that the Church is one of the national entities and has a great responsibility in preparing the good citizen, not the good citizen to have a portion in heaven, but the good citizen to live in the homeland and contribute to supporting and building it.
This fourth forum discusses four topics within the framework of its title, “Take a Step,” which is to take a step towards: God, yourself, your community, and your Coptic identity.
Since its beginning in 2018, the LOGOS Coptic Youth Forums have embraced young people from all the dioceses of the Coptic Orthodox Church outside and within Egypt. “Returning to the Roots” is the slogan for the youth from outside Egypt, whilst that of the youth forums for those from within is “Enjoying the Roots.” LOGOS Coptic Youth Forums aim to instil the spirit of joy in a practical way in the souls of young people, who are the future of the Church, and to train them to come into contact with the love of Christ amid the pressures and preoccupations they face in their daily lives. This is in addition to enjoying the roots of our Church and our country, Egypt.
