The Fourth LOGOS Forum for youth of churches in the pastoral sectors in Cairo, Alexandria, and the dioceses of the See of Mark within Egypt concluded on Saturday evening, which was held over eight days under the title “Take a Step.” H.H. Pope Tawadros II and a number of the Church’s bishops and priests attended the closing ceremony, which was held at the Logos Center in the Monastery of Saint Bishoy; Wadi El-Natroun.
The ceremony had several segments, including praises and hymns by the “Saint Ephraim the Syrian” choir, and a speech by Father Danial William, the General Coordinator of the Fourth Forum. A number of youth expressed their feelings and impressions about the forum, and the concepts and experiences they gained from it. A documentary was played about the Logos Forums’ vision and goals, and the content that was presented through them in the four forums.
The ceremony concluded with a speech by His Holiness, during which he praised the organizers of the forum for the distinguished effort they made, whether during the preparation period or during the days of the forum. He called on the youth who participated in the forum to transfer the experiences they gained during it to their churches and dioceses.
The Fourth LOGOS Coptic Youth Forum discussed four topics within the framework of its title: “Take a Step,” which is to take a step towards God, yourself, your community, and your Coptic identity. It included a number of lectures, seminars, and academic and practical workshops on the topic of the conference, during which meetings were held with successful figures in their field of work. It also included visits to a number of important landmarks in Cairo and Alexandria, and other activities that aimed to train them to serve and give to others in the Church and society in the context of its theme: “Take a step.”
Since its beginning in 2018, the Logos Youth Forums have embraced young people from all the dioceses of the Coptic Orthodox Church outside and within Egypt. “Returning to the Roots” is the slogan for the youth from outside Egypt, whilst that of the youth forums for those from within is “Enjoying the Roots.” LOGOS Coptic Youth Forums aim to instil the spirit of joy in a practical way in the souls of young people, who are the future of the Church, and to train them to come into contact with the love of Christ amid the pressures and preoccupations they face in their daily lives. This is in addition to enjoying the roots of our Church and our country, Egypt.
