Today, the Convent of the Wise Virgins for Nuns, on Ismailia Road, witnessed the addition of seven new nuns, after they were ordained into monasticism at the hands of H.H. Pope Tawadros II this morning.
His Holiness prayed the monasticism prayers on the seven female novices after they passed the probationary period. This was with the participation of five bishops.
The New Nuns are:
- Nun Maria
- Nun Agia
- Nun Sophia
- Nun Aghapy
- Nun Irini
- Nun Athnasia
- Nun Helana
The head nuns of convents, as well as the nuns of this convent also attended.
It is worth noting that this is the second group of female novices to become nuns at the Convent of the Wise Virgins, which was recognized by the Holy Synod at its session held on June 2, 2023. Five nuns had previously been ordained at the same convent by His Holiness in October 2023.
