Today (Monday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II received at the Papal Residence in Cairo, Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, and Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, accompanied by two delegations from their ministries.

During the meeting, coordination of efforts regarding raising awareness of the importance of rationalizing water consumption and the role of the Coptic Church and the Ministry of Endowments in this context were discussed.

His Holiness expressed the Church’s full readiness to participate in supporting all activities aimed at increasing citizens’ awareness of this issue, pointing out that water is essential for life.

His Holiness welcomed a proposal to hold training events for priests to educate them about the importance of rational use of water so that they, in turn, can educate church members in sermons and church meetings.
