Today (Tuesday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II received at the Papal Residence in Cairo, a delegation from the German “KAAD” Scholarship Foundation.
His Holiness gave the KAAD delegation an overview of the history of the Coptic Church, which is the oldest church in the Middle East, explaining that the Church has cared for education since its establishment, as Saint Mark founded the first theological school in Alexandria. Pope Tawadros emphasized the Church’s constant support for its academically distinguished members in various fields.
Pope Tawadros also referred to the role of the “Family House” in strengthening communication between the Church and Al-Azhar in the social field.
He concluded by wishing them a pleasant time in Egypt, and inviting them to visit the Coptic Monasteries.
