The Coptic Orthodox Church and its Holy Synod, headed by H.H. Pope Tawadros II, bids farewell, in the hope of the Resurrection, to His Beatitude the Mapharian Mor Baselios Thomas I of the Indian Syriac Orthodox Church. He has fallen asleep in the Lord today at the age of 95 years.
Since his youth, the late father dedicated his life to God and to the service of His holy Church. He went about serving, preaching, and teaching, sacrificing himself for the spread of the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
As we bid farewell to him today, we are confident that he will receive the share of the faithful servant, and will hear the divine voice calling to him: “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord” (Matt 25:21).
Sincere condolences to the Holy Synod of the Indian Syriac Orthodox Church, to all ranks of the Church and its blessed people.
