Today, H.H. Pope Tawadros II gave a radio interview for the program “These Days” with broadcaster Kamal Mady on “Nagham FM”, Nile Radio, in celebration of the 12th anniversary of his enthronement on the throne of Saint Mark the Apostle.
During the interview, His Holiness discussed various topics and shared his views on several ecclesiastical, national, and personal issues. He stated that the moment of his enthronement was a true test as it occurred during a difficult period the country was experiencing. He emphasized that the homeland is the most important value in a person’s life, and despite the crises we may face, enjoying stability and peace is priceless.
His Holiness warned against tampering with religious sanctities in Palestine, highlighting that they belong to their rightful owners, Christians and Muslims alike.
Pope Tawadros praised the progress in the rights system under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which resulted in the issuance of the Church Construction Law.
He also commended several notable figures, each in their field, including His Eminence Metropolitan Pachomius, Dr. Magdi Yacoub, and Egyptian footballer Mohamed Salah.
Today, the Coptic Orthodox Church celebrated the 12th anniversary of the enthronement of H.H. Pope Tawadros II as its Pope and Patriarch, making him the 118th Pope in the lineage of Popes of the Church of Alexandria.
