Today (Wednesday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II received His Grace Bishop Estefanos, Bishop of the Diocese of Beba, Fashn, and Samasta in Beni Suef Governorate, along with the priests of the diocese, at the Papal Residence in Cairo.
At the beginning of the meeting, H.G. Bishop Estefanos expressed gratitude to His Holiness for his love and for responding to the priests’ request to meet him and receive his blessing. He then presented an overview of the various services and activities of the Diocese of Beba, Fashn, and Samasta, including its social contributions.
In his talk, Pope Tawadros welcomed them and congratulated them on the beginning of the Nativity Fast. He spoke about the significance of the Church’s fasts and their role in sanctifying human senses. His Holiness explained that the Nativity Fast focuses on the ears, the Great Lent focuses on the eyes, the Apostles’ Fast focuses on the mouth, and the Fast of the Virgin Mary focuses on the heart.
Following his talk, Pope Tawadros answered the priests’ questions, listened to their comments and engaged in discussions with them.
