This evening (Saturday), at the Papal Residence in Cairo, H.H. Pope Tawadros II attended the graduation ceremony for two new cohorts from the Church History Institute affiliated with the Diocese of Maadi. The event was attended by His Eminence Metropolitan Danial (Metropolitan of Maadi, Secretary of the Holy Synod, and Dean of the Institute), as well as His Grace Bishop Angelos, the General Bishop of the Churches of Northern Shoubra.
The ceremony included a documentary showcasing the institute’s journey over the past five years since its inauguration, speeches by two graduates, Metropolitan Danial and H.H. Pope Tawadros.
A discussion was also held with several graduates, focusing on their experiences during their studies at the institute.
In his speech, Pope Tawadros emphasized the importance of studying history, noting that it is of great significance to the Church and to Egypt, as Egypt itself is history. He stressed the need to adopt diverse methods in the study of history.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Holiness presented graduation certificates to the 42 graduates of the two cohorts. He also awarded certificates of completion to those who had completed specialized courses.
