Today (Thursday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II welcomed Mr. Jürgen Schulz, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Cairo.

During the meeting, the ambassador expressed his pleasure in taking up his post in Egypt, noting his eagerness to undertake several visits to explore Egypt’s rich history.

His Holiness provided the ambassador with an overview of the history of the Coptic Orthodox Church and Coptic monasteries, inviting him to visit these monasteries to learn about their spiritual and historical significance.

Pope Tawadros also highlighted the strong relations between the Coptic Church, the Egyptian state, Al-Azhar, and other Churches. He shed light on the role of the Council of Churches of Egypt in fostering cooperation among Churches.

The discussion also touched on the importance of education as a cornerstone for advancing societies and nations, emphasizing its pivotal role in shaping individuals and promoting sustainable development.
