H.H. Pope Tawadros II congratulates His Beatitude Patriarch Ibrahim Ishak, Patriarch of the Catholic Copts in Egypt, and our Catholic brethren on the Glorious Feast of Nativity.
H.H. Pope Tawadros II extended his congratulations to His Beatitude Patriarch Ibrahim Ishak, Patriarch of the Catholic Copts in Egypt, on the occasion of the Glorious Feast of Nativity, which several Christian Churches will celebrate after two days on Wednesday.
Today (Monday), His Holiness visited the headquarters of the Catholic Coptic Patriarchate in Kobri El-Qobba. He was received by His Beatitude the Patriarch along with several Catholic bishops, clergy, and nuns.
His Beatitude Patriarch Ibrahim Ishak expressed his happiness with the visit of Pope Tawadros, emphasizing that the birth of the Lord Christ calls us to offer more generosity to others, following the example of Christ, who came to us and through His coming brought many blessings to the world.
In turn, Pope Tawadros highlighted that at the end of the year, we must always thank God for the blessings He has granted us throughout the year, offer repentance, and seek forgiveness. At the beginning of the new year, we place our dreams and weaknesses at the feet of Christ, asking Him to fulfill the dreams that align with His will and lift our weaknesses.
Speaking about the state of the world, His Holiness said: “In light of the situations in some regions, our hearts ache for our brothers and sisters. We pray for their peace. Peace is our constant plea in our prayers: ‘O King of Peace, grant us Your peace; establish for us Your peace.”
He added, “We thank God for being in Egypt, a land which enjoys stability. It is a blessed land due to the visit of the Lord Christ and the Holy Family to it.”
