H.H. Pope Tawadros II received Dr. Reverend Andrea Zaki, head of the Evangelical Community, accompanied by members of the General Evangelical Council, heads of the Evangelical denominations, the Coptic Evangelical Organization for Social Services, and leaders of the Evangelical community and seminary. The meeting took place today (Friday), at the Papal Residence in Cairo to extend greetings to His Holiness for the Glorious Feast of Nativity.
His Holiness welcomed his guests warmly and spoke to them about the occasion, extending his wishes for 2025 to bring better conditions for Egypt and the entire world. He noted that the current era faces many wars that impact humanity’s fate, highlighting the most dangerous ones:
Wars of rumors: Deception and misinformation.
Wars of drugs: Devastation and destruction.
Wars of famine: Economic sieges and threats to life.
Pope Tawadros called for prayers for God’s protection over Egypt, that He may continue to grant it the grace of safety, and for growth and prosperity in all aspects. He also called for peace and stability in conflict zones worldwide.
Reverend Andrea Zaki expressed his gratitude to His Holiness for the warm reception. Addressing Pope Tawadros, he said: “We love, respect, and value you. We pray for you as a symbol for all Christians in Egypt and around the world. We also greatly appreciate your national stances, which history has recorded.”
The meeting concluded with His Holiness answering his guests’ questions in an atmosphere of love and goodwill.
