H.H. Pope Tawadros II received Lieutenant General Mahmoud Tawfik, Minister of Interior, today (Saturday), at the Papal Residence in Cairo. The minister was accompanied by a delegation of senior ministry officials to extend greetings to His Holiness for the Glorious Feast of Nativity.
Pope Tawadros warmly welcomed his guests, thanking them for their visit and well wishes. He expressed his appreciation for the vital role of the police and its institutions, commending their efforts to maintain security in Egypt. His Holiness also praised the significant advancements in the Ministry of Interior’s operations, emphasizing that the police force serves as a protective shield safeguarding citizens.
For his part, the Minister of Interior extended his greetings to Pope Tawadros, wishing him and all Egyptian Christians a joyous feast. He noted that amidst current regional challenges, the strength of Egypt’s internal unity and the resilience of its national fabric stand out as invaluable assets.
