At the beginning of his Nativity Liturgy sermon, H.H. Pope Tawadros II extended his greetings to all his congregation for the New Year and the Feast of the Lord Christ’s Nativity. He said:
“I congratulate you, beloved ones, on this New Year. During the Glorious Feast of Nativity, we experience increased joy, happiness, and delight because of the greetings of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, as he congratulates all the Egyptian people on this occasion.”
His Holiness praised the celebratory atmosphere, noting the large number of well-wishers, and emphasized that these celebrations showcase the image of a united, strong, and cohesive Egyptian people, bound together until the end of time.
Pope Tawadros extended his congratulations to Coptic churches worldwide, saying:
“I am delighted to send my greetings to all our Coptic churches around the world—metropolitans, bishops, priests, deacons, and Copts in every place.”
At the conclusion of his sermon, His Holiness said: “We truly celebrate the Nativity Feast and thank God deeply from our hearts for the blessing of peace, stability, and security we experience in Egypt.”
He added: “I am pleased to extend my warmest greetings to all officials who safeguard the peace of this country, who watch over it, labor tirelessly, and strive for Egypt to remain an oasis of peace and security amidst a world filled with conflicts, violence, wars, and instability. As President Sisi mentioned in his greetings, we are one. We live in unity, practice it, and avoid anything that might harm this unity—in any form or action. We must live this unity, protect one another, safeguard our country, and preserve our beloved and great Egypt. I always say that all nations are in God’s hand, except Egypt which is in God’s heart. He protects and preserves it.”
Pope Tawadros concluded: “We extend our heartfelt greetings to all our loved ones who joined us in the joy of this feast in any form, knowing that their love touches our hearts. Along with the metropolitans, bishops, priests, and deacons, we continuously pray for everyone in positions of responsibility. May God grant you peace, joy, and blessings, protect you always, and sustain this love and peace on our land.”
