H.H. Pope Tawadros II met with a group of youth from St. Abraam’s Church, Long Island, Diocese of New York and New England, at the Papal Residence in Cairo. They were accompanied by Father Joseph Loka, the church’s priest, and came to Egypt to provide educational and developmental services in Cairo as part of the activities of the “HIGH” office. This office coordinates between Coptic Church dioceses abroad and the areas most in need of service within dioceses in Egypt.
In his talk to them, His Holiness commended their dedication to providing services to their brethren in Egypt. He encouraged them to always make an effort to visit Egypt, their homeland and the place of their roots.
Pope Tawadros then answered their questions, and discussed some of the topics they raised.
In its most recent session in March of last year, the Holy Synod issued a decision to establish an office to coordinate and organize services provided by the Coptic Church dioceses abroad to their brethren in Egypt. The office was named “HIGH,” which is an abbreviation of its motto: “Hands in God’s Hand.”
