The Coptic Orthodox Church, under the leadership of H.H. Pope Tawadros II, values the statements made today by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in which he reaffirmed Egypt’s stance—both as a state and a people—against the call to displace Palestinians from their land, as such actions would be unjust to them and would undermine the Palestinian cause.
As one of the pillars of the nation, the Egyptian Church supports the President’s assertion that accepting the idea of displacement would compromise Egypt’s national security—something the Egyptian people, whose blood has been shed in defense of their country’s security and stability, will never allow.
In this context, we call on all active regional and international forces, as well as peace advocates worldwide, to support the Palestinian people’s historical right to establish their state and to make every effort to achieve peace in countries and regions suffering from fragmentation and conflict, where the future remains uncertain.
