Today (Thursday), His Holiness Pope Tawadros II received His Beatitude Patriarch Ibrahim Ishak, Patriarch of the Coptic Catholic Church, at the Papal Residence in Cairo, accompanied by a delegation of Catholic Church leaders in Egypt.
The delegation visiting His Holiness to extend feast greetings included, alongside the Patriarch, His Eminence Metropolitan George Shihan, Metropolitan of the Maronite Church, Metropolitan Elia Warda, Metropolitan of the Syriac Catholics in Egypt, Metropolitan Krikor Augustinos Coussa, Metropolitan of the Armenian Catholics, Metropolitan Jean-Marie Shamy, Metropolitan of the Greek Catholics, as well as H.G. Bishop Bakhoum, Spokesperson for the Coptic Catholic Church, and Metropolitan Toma, Metropolitan of Sohag. Also present were Chorbishop Boules Sati, Head of the Chaldean community, Representatives of Catholic nuns, and members of various Catholic organizations in Egypt.
H.B. Patriarch Ibrahim Ishak extended his greetings for the feasts to H.H. Pope Tawadros on behalf of the delegation, expressing his joy in meeting him and appreciating the love reflected in such gatherings. Several members of the delegation also spoke words of love and greetings.
H.H. Pope Tawadros warmly welcomed his guests, wishing them a happy new year and blessed feasts. He spoke about love, care, faithfulness, and purity as tools for joint efforts that build both individuals and communities.
