H.H. Pope Tawadros II and the Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church bid farewell to the Paradise of Joy the blessed father; His Eminence Metropolitan Aghapios, Metropolitan of the Diocese of Deir Mawas and Delga. He departed in the Lord today at nearly 81 years of age. His Eminemce lived faithfully unto God, dedicating his life to Him, walking the true path of monasticism with steadfast commitment to its rules, marked by firm determination and sincere love.
When he was called to the episcopate, he presented a living model of pastoral care, striving the good fight with all sincerity and faithfulness until he completed his course and departed in peace to the place of rest, according to the faithful divine promise: “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them” (Revelation 14:13).
May his pure soul rest in peace, and may comfort be granted to the clergy and congregation of his diocese, as well as all who loved him.
