H.H. Pope Tawadros II received the abbesses of several convents at the Papal Residence in Bishoy’s Monastery, Wadi El-Natroun. They were accompanied by a number of nuns and came to extend their greetings to His Holiness on the occasion of the glorious Feast of Nativity. The attending abbesses included: Tamav Androsis, Abbess of the Prince Tadros Al-Shatby Convent in Haret Al-Roum; Tamav Takla, Abbess of St. George’s Convent in Old Cairo; Tamav Athanasia, Abbess of St. George’s Convent in Haret Zuweila; and Tamav Basilia, Abbess of Virgin Mary’s Convent in Haret Zuweila.
Meanwhile, Tamav Kyria, Abbess of the Convent of Abu Sefein in Old Cairo, sent a delegation of nuns from the convent, as she was unable to attend due to health issues.
His Holiness had a paternal session with them, during which he inquired about the conditions of their convents.
