Today (Saturday), H.H. Pope Tawadros II received Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, along with his accompanying delegation, at the Papal Residence in Alexandria.
His Holiness welcomed his guests and began the meeting with a brief overview of Alexandria’s Christian history. He praised the academy’s outstanding contributions to the advancement of education and Egyptian society, commending its high academic standards and ongoing development.
In response, the academy’s president expressed his gratitude to the Pope for his continuous support and encouragement of the institution. He also provided an overview of recent developments within the academy, including its various branches, newly established faculties, and departments.
The meeting was attended by the general bishops overseeing pastoral sectors in Alexandria, along with Hegumen Abraam Emil, General Deputy of the Patriarchate in Alexandria.
