H.H. Pope Tawadros II congratulated the members of the Coptic Orthodox Church on the occasion of the Great Lent, which the Church began two days ago. He described it as a rich spiritual period that we eagerly await each year, culminating in the celebration of the glorious Feast of Resurrection.
This came at the beginning of his sermon during the weekly Wednesday meeting, which he delivered today from the Papal Residence in Cairo.
He also extended his congratulations to our Muslim brethren on the approaching blessed month of Ramadan, highlighting that the synchronization of fasting periods is a good sign for us in Egypt. It allows the entire nation to fast and pray together, lifting their hearts to God, asking for His mercy upon His servants everywhere.
Pope Tawadros resumed his weekly meeting today after the feasts season, announcing that he will begin a new educational series titled: “Pairs in the Parables of Christ.” He explained that each parable contains both a positive and a negative example, from which we can learn together.
