This evening, H.H. Pope Tawadros II attended the silver jubilee celebration of the ordination of Hegumen Abraam Emil, General Deputy of the Patriarchate in Alexandria. The event was organized by the Papal Count in collaboration with St. Mark’s Church in Alexandria.
The celebration included several speeches, hymns performed by the “Heart of David” choir, and a documentary titled “From the Days of St. Mark”, which highlighted the service of Hegumen Abraam.
In his speech, Father Abraam expressed gratitude to God for His countless blessings and thanked His Holiness for his dedication in attending the celebration. He also acknowledged the fathers who played a pivotal role in his life and to whom he owes much, having been taught and mentored by them.
The event concluded with a speech by Pope Tawadros on the theme of faithfulness, based on the verse: “Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith” (1 Timothy 1:5).
He emphasized that a man of God should live according to the virtues in this verse:
- Love from a pure heart.
- Humility with a good conscience.
- Organization and management with faith free of hypocrisy.
The celebration was attended by the general bishops serving in Alexandria, a large number of Alexandria’s priests, members of St. Mark’s Church congregation, and employees and staff of the Papal Count.
