H.H. Pope Tawadros II expressed his greetings on the upcoming holy Pascha Week and the Feast of the Resurrection. He also announced the suspension of his weekly Wednesday meeting throughout the Holy Fifties, which begins on the Feast of the Resurrection (20th of April).
This announcement came at the end of his sermon during the meeting, which was held this evening at the Papal Residence in Cairo.
Regarding the upcoming celebrations, His Holiness said: “In the coming days, we begin Holy Week with all its prayers and the rich spiritual atmosphere it brings—prayers, readings, hymns, and peaceful times where we are not distracted by anything else.”
He added: “During the week, we will experience Lazarus Saturday, Palm Sunday, the Holy Pascha days, Covenant Thursday, Good Friday, Bright Saturday, and then we celebrate the Feast of the Resurrection. Wishing you all a blessed time.”
Regarding the temporary suspension of the Wednesday meeting, His Holiness said: “As usual, the meeting will be suspended until the early weeks of the Fast of the Apostles.”
